Ly Son Island in Quang Ngai Province, is a lovely little island that is a well-kept secret amongst locals, very few foreigners know about it. Also known as Cu Lao Re, this tiny island, which only covers an area of 10 square kilometers is thought to have been created from five extinct volcanoes during the prehistoric age. It’s famed in Vietnam for two quite different things; a unique type of garlic which it grows an abundance of and its stunning natural beauty including mountains, mysterious caves and stunning beaches. It also features many historical and cultural relics including temples and pagodas. The wild and unspoiled beauty of Ly Son Island is further complimented by a slow and peaceful pace of life.
Day 1: Hoi An - Ly Son (-/L/D) Departing from Hoi An, head to Quang Ngai Province, Ly Son Island can be reached by speed boat from Sa Ky fishing port. It will take you around 30 minutes to reach this island. Have lunch before departing for Ly Son Island. Arrive in Ly Son, check-in hotel, later, visit Duc Pagoda, capture the sunset at To Vo Gate. This is also a famous spot on this island and is loved by visitors once setting foot here. With the geology, topography and landscape here, it is not wrong to say that Ly Son Island is considered the Jeju Island of Vietnam. Enjoy seafood dinner. Overnight in Ly Son. Day 2: Ly Son - Hoi An (B/L/-) Wake up early and enjoy the beauty of sunrise. After breakfast, visit the Memorial house of Parcel team. Continue to explore Thoi Loi Mountain, looking down from the peak of the mountains, you can admire the spectacular colorful scene with one side is immense field of green grass in the pan-shaped valley and other side is a whole of colors from the blue ocean, white sand and red basalt soil to the green garlic fields. Next stop, Hang Pagoda is naturally chosen by tourists as an ideal destination for relaxation. Have lunch before getting a boat back to the mainland.
