Take an early ride out of Ha Noi to Quang Ninh province to discover the majestic Yen Tu Mountain. Yen Tu is known as the ‘Buddhist capital of Vietnam’ sacred to millions of Buddhists who make a pilgrimage to its lofty peak, where a pagoda is perched.
We will pick you up in the early morning at your hotel and head to Quang Ninh province to visit Yen Tu Mountain. This mountain is famous for its landscapes and Buddhist relics. The surrounding area is made up of a system of pagodas, shrines, towers and forests, all situated within this immense arched mountain range in northeastern Vietnam. Take the cable car to visit Hoa Yen Pagoda at an altitude of 534 meters. Here, you can see two 700-year-old frangipani trees. Then climb the steps to reach Dong Pagoda, perched atop the mountain’s peak, at an altitude of 1,068 meters. The beauty of Yen Tu lies in how the majesty of its mountain ranges mingles with the ancient and solemn quietness of its pagodas, shrines and towers. Once you reach the summit, you can take in the beautiful panoramic view of Northern Vietnam. You can enjoy a pure vegetarian lunch at a local restaurant nearby. In spring, Yen Tu attracts a huge number of tourists sightseeing and going on pilgrimages. There is also Yen Tu Festival, which takes place on the 10th day of the first lunar month lasting until the end of the third lunar month.
