This is one history lesson you will not want to miss! A two-day journey through Vietnam is eventful past that starts in the fascinating imperial-era when royalty resided in Hue city and ends in the famous wartime history of Vietnam at the DMZ and Vinh Moc Tunnels.
Day 1: Da Nang - Hue (-/L/D) We will visit the Citadel, Hue’s most prime attraction containing the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City and the Emperor's Private Residence. After spending time at the Citadel, we will have lunch before checking into a hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit Thien Mu Pagoda, Khai Dinh Royal Tomb and go shopping at Dong Ba Riverside Market. Overnight in Hue. Day 2: Hue - DMZ - Da Nang (B/L/-) Start with an early morning to visit the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). DMZ is set in the rugged, jungle-shrouded mountains along the Vietnam - Laos border of South Vietnam. We will visit Quang Tri Citadel, Hien Luong Bridge and the Seventeenth Parallel - the former borderline between North and South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Continue with a trip to Vinh Moc Tunnels, which were used to shelter people from the intense bombings during the Vietnam War and Con Tien Firebase area.
